Tracy Pryor, a native of Petersburg, Virginia, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (2008), a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from Virginia Commonwealth University (2011), and a Master of Business Administration degree, with a concentration in Executive Management, from Ohio University (2017). Tracy is a Board-certified Medical Laboratory Scientist, and formerly worked as a Clinical Scientist for the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, from 2011 to 2014. Tracy relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina to assist Carolinas Healthcare System (now, Atrium Health) transition their hospital-based clinical laboratory to a lean-driven reference laboratory, focusing on streamlined workflows, laboratory quality indicators, and daily process improvement. After spending 5 years in the clinical laboratory, Tracy felt called to hospital leadership, so she began pursuing operational roles including Clinic Administrator and Director of Operations. Tracy is most passionate about these three things: people, patients, and processes; so, the pathway to operations was only right!
Tracy proudly joined HCA Healthcare on January 6, 2020, just 2 months before a global health pandemic would be declared. Tracy served as the Division Director of Pathology Operations for Capital Division (based in Richmond, Virginia) until July 2021 when she joined the HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland, under the dynamic leadership of CEO, James "Jim" Russell. In her current position, Tracy is right-hand to the CEO, ensuring that the strategic business plan and vision for Mainland are operationalized as efficiently and as effectively as possible. Tracy provides leadership and operational oversight to the following areas of the hospital: Laboratory Services, Imaging, Outpatient Physical Therapy, Outpatient Wound Care, Pharmacy, Plant Operations, Environmental Services, Food and Nutrition Services, and Security. Tracy also serves as the Executive Sponsor of the Employee Advisory Group. Tracy is a proud graduate of HCA Healthcare's Leadership Institute Academy as well as Leadership Mainland, a community-based leadership program that aims to develop leaders within the Texas City-La Marque community. Just this year, Tracy was honored by the Texas City-La Marque Chamber of Commerce as the Young Professional of the Year. She is also an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served on a number of boards and committees within ACHE since 2016. Tracy severs as a mentor and preceptor for high school students and college graduates pursuing degrees in Healthcare Administration and looks forward to growing and developing the healthcare industry's future leaders.
On a personal note, Tracy is very active with her local church and serves as the Director of Development for Global Missions. To date, Tracy has served on 2 mission trips overseas. Her hobbies include traveling, reading, watching movies, eating out at new restaurants, shopping, arts and crafts, and spending quality time with family.
