
Leslie Ornelas holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management from the University of Houston - Clear Lake and serves as an Honorary Clinical Instructor at Walden University.
Throughout her career, Leslie has made significant contributions to her community, serving in various leadership roles, including Chairman of the Board for FEMA’s Emergency Food and Shelter Program - Local Board Galveston County, Leadership Advisory Council Member with the League City Chamber of Commerce, and a member of both Texas Young Professionals and the Texas City/La Marque Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals. She is also a lifetime member of Phi Theta Kappa Sigma Delta Chapter. Leslie graduated from both the Texas City/La Marque Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program in 2017 and the League City Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program in 2019.
In recognition of her outstanding service, Leslie was named a 2019 40 Under 40 honoree by Galveston County Daily News. She has also received several awards for her community impact, including the Spirit of Caring Award from United Way Galveston County Mainland in 2018 for her work following Hurricane Harvey, as well as the Outstanding Public Service, Community Service Leadership, and Outstanding Achievement awards from the IRS through the VITA program. In 2018, she was honored with the Hometown Heroes Award by St. George's Episcopal Church in Texas City.
