Brett has been an HR Professional and Leader for 19 years with an MBA and two Bachelor degrees from Lamar University. He also played Division 1 baseball at Lamar and two years professionally. Brett has been with Valero for 10 years and has held multiple leadership positions at various refinery locations. For the last 10 years Brett has given back to communities through the United Way organizations in New Orleans, Memphis, Houston, and Galveston County Mainland. He is also an active contributor to the Lone Star Paralysis Foundation.
Born in Mesa, AZ and moved to Austin, TX while in elementary school. Married to Sharlee (18 years), they met in college at Lamar. Sharlee ran track and Brett played baseball. They have two daughters, 11 and 9 years old. Brett coaches both girls in softball. In their free time Brett and Sharlee enjoy coaching the girls, and traveling as a family to lakes in Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.
