Born Learning Trail

Watch - Learn - Stop - Play

Everyday life is a learning experience for children. United Way Galveston County Mainland is proud to announce we have already installed 2 Born Learning Trails in Galveston County! Thank you to everyone responsible for making this happen! Born Learning is the only national early learning public engagement campaign that helps parents, grandparents and caregivers explore ways to turn everyday moments into fun learning opportunities.  The Born Learning Trail is an outdoor activity path for parents and caregivers to walk through with their pre-schoolers to encourage them to talk, listen, read, think, imagine and create.  It is a set of fun activities that help a child develop problem solving, critical thinking and reading skills.  The Trail reinforces the message that parents play the most important role in laying the foundation for a child's development.  Click here to visit BornLearning.org.  Click here to download the Born Learning Trail Signs.

Signs perched along the Born Learning path offer new activities encouraging parents to hop, toss, shake and wiggle across a hopscotch board with their little ones, or even just describe and compare shapes.  Born Learning campaign wants to give parents and caregivers  easy and fun ideas to support early learning for young children.
