On April 25, 2015, a devastating earthquake killed more than 8,800 people and injured more than 23,000 in Nepal. Hundreds of thousands of people were made homeless with entire villages flattened, across many districts of the country. Upon hearing of this devastating news, Smit Patel, Clear Brook High School Student United Way Club President, conceived a plan to raise much-needed funds to help with relief efforts. Smit and the Officers from the CBHS Student United Way Club sold raffle tickets during lunch for donated gift cards. They also recruited local businesses to host change banks. The school and community came together to make a difference, and in just a few weeks they raised in excess of $800!!! This is living proof that great things really do happen when we LIVE UNITED. Thank you to Smit Patel, Mr. Paige and the CBHS SUW Club and Students for your tremendous efforts to help those in need!
